🔥 Faith in the Fire: William Webber

In the 1770s, Virginia became a battleground for religious liberty. Baptist preacher William Webber was jailed simply for preaching without a state license—yet even from prison he continued to share the gospel.
This short video provides a quick overview of the persecution Baptists endured under colonial religious laws.

1800s

🪶 Baptists on the Trail of Tears

The Cherokee removal is well-known, but multiple tribes—Delaware, Shawnee, Creek, and others—experienced similar forced migrations.
This short video shows how Baptists walked with Native Americans during these tragedies, offering compassion, Scripture, and gospel hope.

🇨🇳 Baptists and the Opening of China

Video: When Empires Fought, Baptists Planted
In the 1840s, the “brass wall” of China seemed unshakable. Foreigners were mistrusted, missionaries were restricted, and gospel work was slow. But after the Treaty of Nanking, new doors opened. This video introduces students to the world the Shucks faced in Hong Kong—where J. Lewis baptized the first known Chinese believer and helped establish a Baptist witness that continues today.

Before colonial borders were drawn in Central Africa, Thomas James Comber was already traveling the Congo River to bring the gospel.
